William Blacker lived for eight years (1996-2004) in villages in Romania, both in the Maramures and in the Saxon area of Transylvania. Since the early 1990s he has been working to preserve Romania's endangered architectural heritage, and in 1996 wrote The Plight of the Saxons and their Fortified Churches which attracted money from all around the world to save Romanian architecture. He has recently published a book about Romania entitled "Along the Enchanted Way".
William Heathcoat Amory has been an investment banking analyst for 9 years, initially with Brewin Dolphin but for the majority of the time with JPMorgan Cazenove. In May 2008 he co-founded Kepler Partners LLP, an independent investment company marketing boutique.
Lynette Greene worked until recently at The Princes's Foundation for the Built Environment, as Assistant Director. Over the eight and a half years she undertook various roles within the Foundation, ranging from HR, Facilities and the Craft Scholarship Programme. During the last two years, she developed and managed HRH The Prince of Wales's Building Crafts Apprentices Programme. This task involved further training of craft apprentices involved in heritage and the built environment.
In 2009 we have sponsored four local craftsmen and two Romanian architectural students to attend a course in the village of Archita in Romania to learn about sensitive restoration techniques...
In 2010 we hope to build a base of trained and qualified local craftsmen and architects with whom we can work to save historic Romanian buildings...
